The Monster Course Notes for the European Amateur Open 2024 (Tampere Disc Golf Center)

  • Course TD: Jali Honkanen, +358 40 593 2268
  • Course address: Soukonvuorentie 14, 33560 Tampere.
  • Only parked in the marked areas. (See the course map.) Don’t park on the asphalt yard between Powergrip and St1 gas station.
  • Starter’s station at the 1st tee. Remember to visit the starter’s station at the end of the round to verify your scores. Also, remember that you must check in at the starter’s station 5 minutes before your tee time for each round! (PDGA Competition Manual 1.04 B)
  • The primary OB line is the white string, where available. If there’s no string, eg. the OB is in a very rough area, use the OB poles. Primarily the OB poles are just a visual aid and the string is the OB line. See the hole maps for detailed OB instructions.
  • Some holes have multiple tees and/or basket positions, and many of the tournament holes are a combination of two permanent holes. Pay close attention to the tees where you’re throwing from and to the baskets you’re playing.
  • Water available next to the toilets and at the 1st tee.
  • There’s a proper driving range and warm up area, where you can warm up before your round.
  • Sudden death play-off holes (for pool B):
    • Permanent course holes 1 & 27, if there are still other groups/divisions playing on the tournament course. (Played in a loop until the tie is broken, if necessary.)
    • Holes 1, 2 & 18, if all other groups/divisions have finished playing. (Played in a loop until the tie is broken, if necessary.)

Course Schedule

  • Until Tue, July 9: Course closed for preparation. (We aim to have the course open for play as soon as possible. We’ll make a separate announcement if the Monster opens earlier.)
    • UPDATE: Course open for practice! (Teesigns not in place, and staff working on the course. But the course is playable already.)
  • Wed-Thu, July 10-11: Practice rounds. Course reserved for EO & EAO participants only.
  • Fri-Sun, July 12-14: EAO rounds, tee times.
    • EO participants can practice on the course but must wait for at least 1 hour after the last EAO group has started their round.
