Media Rights

2024 Disc Golf European Open, July 17th–21st

General

Spin18 Ltd. owns and functions as the responsible event producer at the European Open. Spin18 owns all media rights of the event, including all side events, and will function as PR-host service for general media and executive host broadcaster for event. All live and post media coverage from the Singles event, Presidents Cup and side events will be handled by Disc Golf Network exclusively.

Media rights to the event

European Open consists of the singles competition (Open Division) from 18th to 21st of July, and all the side events such as Presidents Cup, official Monday Qualifying and Tuesday practice, opening and prize ceremonies. The media rights to the event have been divided into 4 categories depending on the media and intended use. All operators must apply for media permissions in writing no later than one week before the event. The organizer will categorize the registrants into their respective categories and specify the size of the production team based on the written applications. All media and commercial operators approved for the event must register as they enter the venue and sign and agree to comply with the waiver defined by the event producer.

Official Monday Qualifying / Practice -Tuesday Practice

Monday and Tuesday are open to attend by any registered media and spectators. With our open media policy, Spin18 wants to give a maximum exposure to Disc Golf and its events. For more info Monday Qualifying / Practice -Tuesday practice, please contact to the Head of Media, Jussi Meresmaa.

Media Contact / Accreditation

The application must include, at minimum, the following information:

  • Contact information, as well as email and phone number during the event
  • Name of the Company / Medium, publication platform, country of operation
  • Type(s) of media coverage
  • Size and equipment of the production team
  • Which days of the week the team would be onsite

1. Host broadcasters

1.1. SPIN18 and Disc Golf Network

2. International and national media companies

2.1. Media with a separate independent sports desk.

3. Independent freelancers

3.1. Video blogs.

3.2. Freelancers with their own publication platforms.

3.3. Independent In-sport publication platforms.

4. Commercial operators and equipment manufacturers operating in the disc golf industry

Disc Golf European Open Media Rights by Category

Category 1

Operators are entitled to operate in the filming area specified by the organizer and in the entire course area.

Category 2

Operators will receive day-specific filming and interview rights from the event’s media officer. It is possible to conduct player interviews in a separate media zone See the map below).

Category 3

Operators are allowed to film at the venue but only in areas reserved for the audience in the course area (no live broadcasting/ streaming). It is possible to conduct player interviews in a separate media zone. Upon request, operators will need to provide copies of the material for the organizer’s free use without limitations. In addition, the hashtag(s) provided by the organizer should be used with all contents shared in social media. Operators can receive day-specific guidelines from the organizer, upon request.

Category 4

Operators are allowed to film (no live broadcasting/ streaming) at the venue but only in areas reserved for the audience in the course area. It is possible to conduct player interviews in a separate media zone. Category 4 operators are entitled to use the footage they film for commercial purposes, providing they take account of the rights of the event and the players taking part in it. Upon request, operators will need to provide copies of the material for the organizer’s free use without limitations. In addition, the hashtag(s) provided by the organizer should be used with all contents shared in social media.

The organizer reserves the right to change the event’s media rights and instructions where needed.

European Open 2024 Media accreditation

Media accreditation is reserved for members of the press who represent a bona fide media organization, professional photographers or social media influencers.

Apply for media accreditation here. Fill in all the necessary information:

  • Contact information, as well as email and phone number during the event
  • Name of the Company / Medium, publication platform, country of operation
  • Type(s) of media coverage
  • Size and equipment of the production team
  • Which days of the week the team would be onsite

Accreditated media will receive a media pass and a vest. Media pass is personal and can’t be given for another person. The media pass and vest will be received on-site.

The media pass needs to be visible at all times at the venue. The vest is mandatory on the courses.

Media parking

Parking permission is provided for the gate in advance.

Press conference for bona fied media

European Open will host a press conference on 17th of July just before the Presidents Cup.

Note: This Press Conference is for media in categories 2 and 3. Disc Golf Network will host their own press conference.

There will be 4-5 players attending from both competing teams (USA and Europe).

The press conference is only for bona fied media. There will be limited spots for media. Book your spot and player interview in advance by contacting media coordinator: lauri (at) frisbeegolfmedia.fi.

Frisbeegolfmedia Oy will be European Open official media partner. All the interviews of the official press releases are published on frisbeegolfmedia.fi and delivered for registered media by Frisbeegolfmedia.
