Moon Valley Course Notes (Julkujärvi DiscGolfPark)

  • Course address: Julkujärventie, 39160 Ylöjärvi.
  • There’s ample parking space right next to the 1st tee.
  • Starter’s station at the 1st tee. Remember to visit the starter’s station at the end of the round to verify your scores. Also, remember that you must check in at the starter’s station 5 minutes before your tee time for each round! (PDGA Competition Manual 1.04 B)
  • OB on holes 1 and 2, asphalt road and beyond.
  • Water station at hole 9 tee as well. (Unmarked on the map.)
  • There are anthills on hole 18. These are considered harmful insects and players must obtain relief from them, as per PDGA Rules 803.02.
  • Notable recent changes to the course:
    • Hole 7: Extended, target has been moved farther.
    • Hole 10: Extended, target has been moved farther. Now a par 5.
    • Hole 13: New tee location.
  • You can warm up at the Julkujärvi Am DGP, located on the south side of the road that runs through the area. The Am DGP is reserved for EAO competitors for July 12-14.
  • Sudden death play-off holes (for MA2): 1 & 18. (Played in a loop until the tie is broken, if necessary.)

Course Schedule

  • Sat-Mon, July 6-8: Course closed for preparation.
  • Mon, July 8, 15:00: Course open. But keep an eye for staff working on the course!
  • Tue, July 9, 12:00-21:00 : Moon Valley Madness Doubles Tournament (discgolfmetrix) (Available for practice in the morning and evening. But there’s a special freaky layout for the doubles event!)
  • Wed-Thu, July 10-11: Practice rounds. Course reserved for EAO participants only.
  • Fri-Sun, July 12-14: EAO rounds, tee times.
