The 2024 professional disc golf season kicks off in just a few days in Brooksville, Florida, and so does qualifying for the European Open 2024!
The Chess.com Invitational is the first qualifying event for this year’s European PDGA Major. Five MPO participants and one FPO player will earn an invitation to the 2024 European Open from each PDGA Pro Major, Disc Golf Pro Tour, and Disc Golf Pro Tour Europe Silver tournament held before the European Open.
The European Open switched from rating based to qualification tournament based qualifying system in 2023. Vast majority of the European Open spots are issued to players performing well in one of the qualifying events, though certain players are exempt from qualifying, e.g. previous European Open champions, and world’s top ranked disc golf professionals.
