Presidents Cup Enters a New Era Under PDGA Ownership

The Presidents Cup, one of disc golf’s premier international team competitions, is set for a major transformation in 2025. The event, originally founded in 2006 by Jussi Meresmaa, has officially transitioned to PDGA ownership, securing its long-term future and expanding its global presence.

With this change, the Presidents Cup will now rotate between the U.S. and Europe, with the U.S. hosting in odd-numbered years and Europe in even-numbered years. The next edition will take place on April 30, 2025, at Swenson Park in Stockton, California, as part of the PDGA Champions Cup by OTB and MVP Disc Sports. The event will serve as the official kickoff to the first PDGA Major of the season.

Although the event is now under PDGA leadership, Meresmaa remains actively involved, ensuring a smooth transition and continued European representation.

Further details, including team captains, ticket sales, and Disc Golf Network coverage, will be announced soon. As the Presidents Cup moves into a new era, the rivalry between Europe and the U.S. is only set to intensify.
