Thunderstorms brought unfortunate delays – Round 2 is finally over!

FPO played their round early on Friday in relatively good weather. Eveliina Salonen was in excellent form during the second round of the European Open at Tampere Disc Golf Center. She shot a round score of -4, which brought her total score to -9.

Kristin Tattar, who had led the competition, was not in the same form as the previous day. However, she managed to bring her total score to -10 and maintain the lead, keeping Eveliina Salonen behind her.

Salonen momentarily took the lead, but putting errors on hole 17 dropped her behind Tattar – she recorded four putts on that hole.

“I think the round went well before hole 17. There were a couple of things that could have been corrected, but otherwise, it was really good,” Eveliina Salonen told Frisbeegolfmedia. “Hole 17 was a small disaster, but we’re still in the game.”

After two rounds, the duo is clearly ahead of the others, with Silva Saarinen in third place with a score of -1.

A part of the MPO side faced a true endurance test. The second competition round, interrupted by a thunderstorm on Friday, was completed on Saturday morning at the Tampere Disc Golf Center.

Randon Latta led the competition after the first round, but couldn’t maintain his initial form during the second round, which resumed at seven in the morning. After two rounds, Latta’s score is -2, placing him in 29th position.

Paul McBeth and Gannon Buhr lead the competition with a combined score of -12. Buhr rose to the top by setting a course record of -9 on The Monster course. Chris Dickerson is in third place with a score of -11, and Niklas Anttila and Richard Wysocki share fourth place with a score of -10.

The best Finnish result was recorded by Joona Heinänen, who started his morning on hole 12. Heinänen began his round strongly on Friday and continued in the same manner after the restart. He played an impressive -8 round, climbing a remarkable 30 positions upward. Heinänen told Frisbeegolfmedia that his game felt really good, even though he had some concerns about how it would go before the round. According to Heinänen, he doesn’t believe that playing two rounds in one day will affect his performance.

MPO’s third round is already underway in Nokia. Players are playing the third round in the same groups and order as the second round. The last group of the MPO division will start at 15:30, and among the top players are Paul McBeth and Chris Dickerson. Niklas Anttila’s start time on The Beast is 14:38.
